ACCORDING TO SKIN CANCER RESEARCH UK, CASES OF SKIN CANCER ARE FIVE TIMES HIGHER TODAY THAN THEY WERE IN THE SEVENTIES. WHY ARE WE NOT GETTING THE PROTECTION MESSAGE?
Why is it that we feel so ‘safe’ & ‘secure’ when it’s comes to applying sunscreen in the UK. Lulled into a false sense of security that’s it’s only when on our hot holidays that we need to don the sunscreen. I get, increasingly, alarmed & frustrated when I see clients who still don’t understand the risks they are putting themselves under when choosing to ignore the strength of the UK sun. So many do not know how much they should be using & how to apply it so here’s my guide.
FACE, NECK AND ARMS
Each requires 3ml (size of a £2 coin) of sunscreen for adequate protection
BACK, FRONT AND LEGS
Use 6ml (the size of a plum) for each to ensure adequate protection
USING A SPRAY
For adequate protection apply two coats, allowing each to absorb thoroughly
Apply 3 x a day & reapply after water contact.
