During my pregnancy my body was drawn towards Avocados, dark greens & fruit & I really listened to it & it’s little subtle demands of what it needed throughout the trimesters.
What I have found fascinating as a new Mum & Skin therapist, is that even though Maggie was supposedly 2 weeks later than her estimated due date, her skin was smooth, plump & a beautiful tone when she was born.
We had a bit of a journey getting her here safely in the end resulting in a C section so she was very swollen & bruised when she arrived. But in less than 2 weeks she had healed perfectly & I really believe that was/is due to what I have been nurturing my body with.
Don’t get me wrong there was definitely some afternoon tea enjoyed throughout & I have my ‘treats’ but making 80-90% of my diet rich in Antioxidants, essential fats & good protein sources has made a big difference.
Here’s one of my favourite smoothies that I had every day throughout my pregnancy & a great way of getting all of those goodies into your & your babies system.
- A banana
- Half an avocado
- A carrot
- A handful of Spinach
- A handful of blueberries
- A tsp of pea protein powder, bee pollen, chia seeds, Pukka greens powder, cinnamon
- Mixed with Almond milk & water whizzed up in my Nutri bullet.
